KARACHI – Pakistan’s fashion industry is gearing up for a significant transformation as LAAM Fashion Week ’26 is set to kick off in late January. Moving away from traditional spectacle, this year’s event is being marketed as a “retail and structural reset” for the industry. Organizers announced on Wednesday that the focus will be on sustainable production and the integration of digital commerce with high fashion.
The event will feature top-tier designers alongside emerging names, aiming to bridge the gap between runway art and consumer accessibility. “We are no longer just looking at tradition; we are looking at the future of how fashion is consumed in a digital age,” a lead organizer stated. Key celebrities, including Mahira Khan and Sajal Aly, are expected to headline the opening gala, which will be live-streamed to a global audience.
Industry experts note that 2026 is becoming a defining year for Pakistan’s cultural industries. “Fashion in Pakistan is shifting toward self-awareness. It’s not just about the clothes; it’s about the economic footprint of the textile sector,” an entertainment analyst commented.
